'Still in shock': in Massachusetts, a snake bit a baby in front of mom
On Saturday, June 15, a 5-foot (4,5 m) snake crawled into the house in Boston and bit the 9-month-old baby playing on the kitchen floor.
Jenna Lees-Rolfe said she was terrified when she noticed a non-poisonous milk snake curled up next to her son James. Then she saw the snake biting his son's leg when he played with pots and pans.
“I’m still in shock,” Lis-Rolfe said.
“The snake was in my house next to my 9-month-old baby. That was the most shocking thing for me,” she added.

The child was examined by a doctor. It is in a stable condition.
The snake entered the house through the garage and slipped out from under the fridge.
Lis-Rolfe, a native of Australia, admitted that in the 26 years she lived in Australia - which is known for its dangerous wildlife - she had never had a snake in her home.
