The court decided the fate of the man who broke the star Trump on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
A court in Los Angeles (California) sentenced Austin Clay, who, with a pickaxe, beat the nominal star of US President Donald Trump on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in July.
24-year-old Clay did not protest the charges during a court hearing, at the end of which Judge Kerry Bensinger sentenced him to three years of being under special supervision, 20 community service days and one day in prison, writes TASS.
Clay must also pay compensation for damages in the amount of $ 9,4 thousand.
Trump won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 2007 for his popular reality TV show The Apprentice on NBC, in which he acted as the host.
After Trump's victory in the US presidential election, vandals have twice harmed the commemorative sign because of dissatisfaction with Trump’s actions as head of state.
In October, 2016 made it James Otis, who smashed the star with a sledgehammer. In July of this year, Clay followed suit, using a pickaxe.
In April, 2016, almost 20 thousand people supported the petitionaddressed to Los Angeles authorities, demanding that Trump be deprived of a nominal star on the Walk of Fame for insulting remarks during the election campaign. However, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which manages the Walk of Fame, refused to comply with these requirements.
