Russian billionaire Abramovich was deprived of a British visa
Russian billionaire Chelsea club owner Roman Abramovich was denied a British visa extension. This information was confirmed by the assistant Abramovich, writes Voice of America.
He noted that the procedure for extending the Abramovich visa takes a longer time than usual, noting that the reason for the delay is unclear. The assistant spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make public statements.
Britain pledged to revise long-term visas issued to rich Russians after the March assassination attempt former double agent Sergey Skrypal and his daughter in the English city of Salisbury. London accuses Russia of organizing the assassination; Moscow denies these accusations.
Abramovich’s first visa problem was reported on Sunday by an online publication The Bell with reference to two unnamed sources. According to the newspaper, the term of the visa issued to the oligarch expired last month.
Earlier it was reported that last weekend Abramovich was not present at the match held at Wembley Stadium, as a result of which the Chelsea team won the FA Cup.
