Lowkoster WOW offers $ 99 tickets to Europe from New York
Icelandic airline WOW Air announced the launch of flights to the largest US city of New York for $ 99. Earlier at this price from Europe it was possible to fly to Washington, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Flights to and from New York are expected to start on November 25. Flights will depart from Newark Liberty International Airport. Passengers are waiting for direct flights to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, from where you can make a transfer to a European city 21 flight.
“We started working on direct flights from New York some time ago, and I'm excited to offer our famous $99 tickets from New York to Iceland,” airline CEO Skuli Mogensen told USA Today.
The price is valid for a one way ticket. In the case of a transfer, for example, to London, Berlin or Amsterdam, the cost of a WOW ticket will cost $ 149. However, the number of tickets at the cheapest fares is limited, and they can not always be purchased.
“Given the response from passengers to other destinations, I’m sure there will be a lot of renewed interest in this fare,” says Mogensen.
Along with the American destinations, WOW flies to the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal.
For Newark Liberty Airport, one of the three largest in the suburbs of New York, this is the second major deal with modern low-cost airlines in a few days.
Previously, a contract was signed with the rapidly developing American company Allegiant Air for domestic flights, including to Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Savannah, Georgia.
