1. Manhattanhenge

Manhattanhenge is a term for a phenomenon that occurs in Manhattan twice a year, around May 28 and June 12. It lies in the fact that the setting or rising Sun is visible from the cross streets of Manhattan clearly between the skyscrapers. These streets intersect perpendicularly with avenues that run at an angle of 29° to the meridians. This year the first Manhattanhenge will take place on May 29 and 30.

2. Mystery of lake george

This is a lake with a mysterious natural phenomenon in the Great Valley at the southeastern foot of the Adirondack mountain range. If you stand in the middle of the platform, which is located a little further than the visitors' platform, then you can hear that your voice has an echo. And it is impossible to explain this from the point of view of physics.

3. Cannon Lake Seneca

An inexplicable rumble is heard on this lake in New York. This phenomenon is not only in New York. In the north of Canada and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, there are also lakes from where sounds like gunfire come from. Scientists believe that this is due to fractures of the underground layers.

4. Gravity Hill

Optical illusion, when due to the peculiarities of the relief a small bias looks like a rise. The phenomenon is known as "hypnotic hill", "magnetic hill", "gravitational road", etc. In such a place it seems that the objects themselves are moving uphill against the forces of gravity. 5. Whispering Gallery of Central Station

Not far from Grand Central Ouster Bar there are four arches, which together create a whispering gallery. The distance in the gallery is 15 meters. If one person is standing in one corner, he hears the whisper of a person standing in the opposite corner.

Reports from the 1960s indicate that residents of Pine Bush Township report unusual phenomena. They claimed that they were often visited by aliens. The city even created a Cup & Saucer themed diner!

7. Balancing Rock of North Salem

No one knows exactly how this balancing 60-ton rock appeared, but it clings to smaller stones and somehow does not fall. Some believe that the rock was the result of the ice age, or it is a Celtic ceremonial stone.

8. Crocodiles in the sewer

Popular in the US, the urban legend of the huge crocodiles or alligators living in the old sewer systems of big cities and, especially, in New York. According to legend, in the southern states of the United States until relatively recently, small alligators were popular as pets like turtles or aquarium fish. However, these reptiles are growing rapidly and, as soon as the animal began to create problems for the owners, it often went down the toilet, which for the alligator was not particularly dangerous. Alligators, being unpretentious and omnivorous creatures, allegedly took root in the sewers, feeding on insects and various garbage. In addition to the artwork Life Underground, presented by Tom Otterness in the New York subway system, a bronze alligator sculpture emerges from the sewers on the platform 14th Street / 8th Avenue.
