February 8 will close all Chipotle restaurants in the US for the day
Mexican restaurant chain Chipotle will close its locations across the country on Feb. 8 for a “national team meeting” to discuss the safety of its dishes and ingredients used in their preparation.
The reason for this was the frequent cases of poisoning of restaurant visitors, which began in August 2015, writes NBC Los Angeles.
Network Communications Director Chris Arnold announced that all restaurants would close at noon and reopen in 15: 00 in each time zone.
“We will thank our restaurant teams for their hard work during a difficult time, discuss some of the changes we are implementing as part of our expanded food security plan, and answer questions from employees,” Arnold explained.
In the past few months, there were several outbreaks of visitors poisoning at Chipotle restaurants, the cause of which is Norovirus, Salmonella, and E. Coli.
As the “Forum” wrote, in December, more 20 students poisoned themselves at the Boston Chipotle.
