70 Nobel Laureates voted in support of Hillary Clinton

A group of 70 world leading experts in the field of science, medicine and economics expressed support for Hillary Clinton, arguing that her election is crucial for the protection of freedom and the preservation of the constitutional government, the newspaper writes The New York Times

Nobel laureates stated their support for the Democratic presidential candidate in a letter. They write that Hillary Clinton best understands the importance of investing in science and technology at a time when the world is facing challenges on several fronts. In the letter, scientists do not mention Donald Trump, but state that politicians who show a lack of evaluation of scientific knowledge, can lead to damage to the prestige of America and national security.

“We need a president who will support and promote policies that will enable our nation to thrive in science and technology,” they write.

Among the Nobel laureates who wrote the letter were such famous names as chemist Peter Agre, economist Robert Shiller and physicist Robert Woodwaugh Wilson. They recalled global problems such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease and climate change that require American investment and innovation.

The fact that the Nobel laureates support Clinton was not a big surprise, since in the overwhelming majority of cases, scientists lean toward the Democratic Party.
