No toilet brush

The layout of the sewer network is very different from ours. The water drain in the tank is located on the side, in another case, water is supplied from below, and the toilet is half filled with water. There is no brush - due to the strong water pressure, the inner walls of the toilet bowl are cleaned on their own and do not require additional care. Of course, no one canceled regular cleaning.

No floors at number 13

If you are riding in an elevator in an American high-rise building, you may notice that the “13” button is missing. Why?

Americans are very superstitious, so many home owners skip the floor with a bad omen, believing that no one will want to buy an apartment on the “bad” floor.

Features of the interior of the house

In the USA, electricity is very expensive, so even when building a house, builders do not equip the ceilings with electrical cables - there will never be chandeliers or light bulbs there. Yes, the lighting is not very bright. But for saving purposes it is good.

Built-in overhead shower

It is not known why, but in American homes there are no shower systems with a flexible hose, as is customary in Russia. The showers are equipped only with an overhead shower, so if you need to rinse, but do not wash your hair, you will have to use a plastic hat.

Hand shower systems are installed in hotels, but not in standard American homes. The bathroom is not equipped with a shower at all - there is only a tap above it for filling the bath.

It's not typical for an American to use a duvet cover, they only have sheets. In some cases, they are covered with blankets, and then they are simply washed more often. They are accustomed to this: one sheet is pulled over the mattress (it can be with an elastic band or simply tucked in), and the second is placed under the blanket.

The absence of curtains on the windows

The windows in American homes are very large to provide maximum light during the day. But you can hardly find curtains or curtains - Americans use blinds.

An interesting feature is that many Americans do not hang windows at all. That is, walking along the street, you can see how the family is sitting at the table, or what the neighbor is doing at this time.
