On the 20th of November I had an accident in Los Angeles. I was riding a two-wheeler without exceeding the speed limit, and a person hit me and did not notice me driving. In the states it is very common to make 180 degree turns, you can do them anywhere and he entered the yellow line. I saw him about 150 meters away, it was dark. And he stood on the yellow line and waited for me to pass. I looked at him, he looked at me, but at the very last moment he most likely did not notice me - I was in his blind spot.

My leg is not just broken, but an open fracture of the knee joint. This is a little different. Not that I'm a super professional rider, but I'm attentive and I saw this guy who knocked me down. He still has not contacted. His insurance company regularly sends me letters and tries to get through to find out how things are, but my lawyer told me not to tell them, because this could subsequently affect the whole thing.

We must give credit to the first responders. An accident occurred, and after 25-40 seconds the firefighters arrived. When such a situation occurs, three types of specialists come to the United States - firefighters, police officers and doctors. Only the firefighters came to me and immediately determined that I needed to go to the hospital. I didn’t pass out, I wasn’t in a state of shock, I remember everything perfectly. I flew over the car, first fell in front of the car, the driver ran out and began to lift me. There were already a lot of people, they started shouting so that he wouldn’t touch me. In a state of painful shock, I felt nothing and decided to try to get up. It didn’t work out - I saw that my leg was dangling. It didn't hurt at first. Now I remember all this with a smile, but when I tried to get up, I immediately fell. It all took 25-40 seconds and the firefighters had already arrived.

One of the firefighters, without hesitation, immediately cut my pant leg, opened it and said: “Well, that’s it, this is a hospital.”

There are a lot of doctors in the hospital - they have a doctor for every sneeze. When they brought me, there were a lot of them, they all took pictures of my injury. Then they suddenly seemed to evaporate and two policemen came. I told them again what happened. They asked why I didn’t have a braking distance - they decided that I didn’t see it. But I saw him and was 100% sure that he was letting me through. They also asked if I had insurance.

If after an accident the report states that you are a victim, then this is a plus for you, since the insurance premium for the car will not increase, no points will be awarded, the consequences will be only physical and material. This will not affect your case or status in any way.

All the bills did not come to me right away, but about a week after I left the hospital. For all a separate account and they are all different. For firefighters this is $ 1500, for the fact that they arrived and drove me about 5 kilometers to the hospital. The operation itself also cost $ 1500. These first two bills came 10 days after I returned home.

The way I was treated at the hospital is top notch I have ever seen. I don’t have a single question for all the hospital employees, they are professionals. Everyone is extremely humane, they explain and tell everything. As the doctor told me, once in 150 thousand something like this happens to me: with such an injury, the tendons and ligaments are not affected. Otherwise it would be at least 8 months.

The design that I am wearing is designed to prevent me from bending my knee in any way - this could cause harm. Here the degree at which I will be able to bend my knee in the future is set. Sometimes you really want to bend it, but you can’t. I'm looking forward to the moment when I can do this.
