61-year-old resident of Nebraska gave birth to her own granddaughter

Cecile Elages from Nebraska refused coffee for nine months. She did everything the doctors told her. 61-year-old woman became a surrogate mother for a child of her own son, who is in same-sex marriage and who dreamed of becoming a father. Biologically, the newborn girl is Cecile's granddaughter.

Once Eled, jokingly, suggested that her son and his husband carry a child for them, writes USA Today. But she was surprised when she decided to take the tests and it turned out that her health allows her to become a surrogate mother.

A week ago, Uma Louise, weighing 5 pounds 13 ounces (2630 grams), was born at the Nebraska State Medical Center. She was carried and brought to light by her grandmother, Cecile Eledge.

Happy fathers Matthew Eledge and Elliot Dougherty said the birth of their daughter was made possible thanks to two women in their lives - Matthew's mother and Elliot's sister (the latter donated eggs, which were combined with Matthew's sperm).

Cecile says she was sure the doctors would say she was no longer suitable for surrogacy. But they told her that they couldn’t find a single reason for this. According to her, she showed great caution, much more than 32 years ago, when she was carrying Matthew himself. Then she did not refuse coffee: “You know, I love coffee,” the woman admitted.

Elliot said that both husbands were persuaded by his sister, who told them that they could have a child. She proposed her own cells for conception using in vitro fertilization. Matthew Eledge said that with the salaries of a teacher and a hairdresser it was difficult to pay for the services of a surrogate mother and egg donor, moreover, I really didn’t want to go to a stranger.

“I can’t believe she’s already a week old. She's a week old! “It’s all just amazing!” Elliot admits delightedly.
