A mother and her boyfriend nailed a 6-year-old boy to a wall and shot him with a pistol.
A 6-year-old Michigan boy died after he was nailed to a wall and shot with an air pistol. The murder was committed by the child's own mother and her partner. This terrible crime happened in front of the younger brother and sister of the deceased child, writes New York Post.
The mother of the deceased child, 25-year-old Elaine Rose Jennings, and her partner, 32-year-old Daniel John Giacchina, were charged with murder after little Giovanni "Chulo" Jennings was found unconscious with injuries all over his body on July 30.
Investigators soon learned that Giovanni had been locked in a closet and left to sleep on a wooden shelf in a Madison Heights mobile home. Prosecutors said the adults regularly beat the helpless child in front of two younger children, Giovanni's brother and sister.
On the subject: A father killed his little daughter, hid the body in a trash can, and then committed suicide.
"After carefully reviewing the evidence, we found that it can only be described as 'utter horror,'" Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. — Jakkina was beaten by 'Chulo' several times. Sometimes this happened when the child's mother was at work. Jennings knew about this and approved of the abuse of her son, sometimes even inciting Jakkina to torture 'Chulo'."
There were black curtains on the closet window, and the exit was barricaded so that Giovanni could not get out. There was a security camera there so Giacchina and Jennings could watch for what the grieving mother called “bad behavior”: the child’s attempts to urinate, drink or get out of the closet.
One day, Giacchina stapled Giovanni's clothes to the wall with the baby facing the corner. He even took a photo of the child and sent it to Jennings to amuse her.
"Both Jennings and Giacchina were laughing at the photo and how the roommate was using a stapler to solve the 'problem,'" McDonald said.
The boy was “punished” in this way only because he “looked out the window from the closet,” the prosecutor clarified.
Police were called to the home on July 30 and the boy died the next day at a local hospital, McDonald said. An autopsy revealed injuries throughout the body, including on the head, temples, lips, inside of the mouth, cheeks, forehead, chin, shoulder, forearms, fingers, thumbs, back, buttocks, inner thighs, knees and legs.
“The evidence shows that constant cruel bullying and violence led to the child’s death,” the prosecutor concluded.
Items recovered from the home included a staple gun, a BB gun and CO2 canisters.
