50-year-old swimmer from Kazakhstan became the champion of the Paralympic Games in Rio
Zulfiya Gabidullina brought Kazakhstan the first gold medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games of the Year in Rio de Janeiro.
50-year-old athlete finished first in the swimming at a distance of 100 meters freestyle. In addition, she set a new world record.

In addition, as reported by the portal Zakon.kz, Gabidullina entered the list of Top-3 best women athletes of the Paralympic Games in Rio and claims to receive an award for achievements in sports established by the International Paralympic Committee.
Among the contenders, along with Gabidullina, is an American Tatyana McFaddenwho was born in 1989 year in Leningrad and later was adopted by a US citizen, as well as Veronica Silva Hypolito from Brazil.
The winner of the prestigious award will receive a medal of pure gold weighing in 75.
The prize was reportedly established to attract the attention of the world community to Paralympic sports and people with disabilities who are fighting for the medals of the Games.
The award will be presented during the Paralympic Games closing ceremony, which will be held in Rio on the next Sunday of 18 September.
At this point in medal standings Athletes from China are confidently leading the 2016 Paralympics. They have already won 179 medals, including 79 gold. Next come the British (107 medals - 49 gold) and Ukrainians (88 medals - 34 gold).
The US team is in 4th place - American athletes have the same number of medals as representatives of Ukraine, but 5 fewer gold medals - 29 highest awards.
The Russian national team was in full force of the decision of the International Paralympic Committee suspended from participation in the Paralympic Games based on the report of the Commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency on the promotion of doping at the state level in Russia, including among Paralympians.
