5 of states where most immigrants
Since the end of the 1970-s to the present day, California is considered the leader in the number of immigrants. This is reported by a new analysis of the research center Pew.
According to Pew, 2014 percent of registered and undocumented immigrants passed through the Golden State in 25.
The states of Texas and New York have the second largest number of migrants in America. Each is home to about 4,5 million immigrants, accounting for 11 percent of the total in the United States.
4 million immigrants settled in Florida and 1,9 million in New Jersey.
In Texas, 56 per cent of immigrants are Mexicans. In California, Mexicans make up the 41 percentage.
In New York, the nationality of immigrants is more diverse. Mexicans make up only 6 percent. Asians, Europeans and Caribs are evenly distributed among the rest of the immigrants, writes Pew.
In November, analysts recorded that the number of Mexicans who leave the United States is higher than arrivals.
This may be due to the slow recovery of the American economy. Another reason Mexicans are leaving America is the Obama administration's strict enforcement of immigration laws. In 2013, deportations reached an all-time high.
In recent months, the immigration issue has been fueled by new hearings in the Supreme Court, the decision of which will affect the fate of nearly four million illegal immigrants.
