Vietnam

Flores Island serves as a jumping-off point for trips to Komodo National Park, home to monitor lizards, and the three colorful crater lakes of Kelimutu.

Georgia produces wine the same way it has for 8000 years: grapes are fermented in qvevri clay vessels buried in the ground. This method of wine production was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013. The country, located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, remains one of the most affordable destinations. Expenses range from $30 to $45 per day, with the lari (GEL) exchanging hands at around 2,7 to $1. Citizens of many countries can stay in Georgia visa-free for up to a year. A serving of khinkali costs a couple of dollars, and a glass of local wine costs about the same.

The capital, Tbilisi, stands on the Kura River: the old town with its carved wooden balconies stands next to the brick sulfur baths of the Abanotubani district at the foot of the Narikala Fortress.
