"Western Caribbean cruises continue to be some of the most affordable and accessible itineraries departing from Florida," said Brian Raffio, senior travel consultant at Climbing Kilimanjaro.
These cruises typically last 5 to 7 nights and visit popular Caribbean destinations such as Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. Baby boomers are drawn to excursions, snorkeling, beach relaxation, and visits to Mayan monuments.

"Caribbean cruises—traditionally a popular option, priced at approximately $500 to $900 per person for seven days—are losing some of their audience as baby boomers choose ships with lighter occupancy than larger cruise lines," noted Evelyn Durán, travel expert and sales manager at Ecuador & Galapagos Insiders. She says these cruises appeal to older travelers because they require less organizational effort and have a well-designed onboard program.

"Alaska's Inside Passage cruises appeal to baby boomers with their price points—from $800 to $1500 per person for a week in May or September. Itineraries include ports like Juneau and Ketchikan, where you can see glaciers and wildlife without expensive shore excursions," Duran explained.
The main appeal of this option is observing glaciers, wildlife, and learning about the region's history. Baby boomers report enjoying visiting the cities of Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. Raffio added that Alaska cruises at the beginning and end of the season (May or September) often offer surprisingly good prices.
Mediterranean
Average price: $650 to $900 for 7 nights

"These cruises, of course, include stops in Santorini, Dubrovnik, and Naples," Raffio emphasized. "Baby boomers love these itineraries because they pass through historically rich regions, and the cities themselves are walkable and don't require constant transfers between hotels in different countries."

According to Raffio, baby boomers are actively booking cruises departing from Los Angeles or San Diego with stops in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlán. The main appeal of this route is the warm climate, beach holidays, historic cities, and culinary tours. All of this is located relatively close to the United States.
