The student was the only employee of the hotel in Texas due to the fact that his colleagues could not get to the place of work during the flood. One of the hotel guests, Angela K. Chandler, told Facebook about the resident Satchel Smith. Writes about it Lenta.Ru.

As a result of a tropical storm, Imelda, which struck the city of Beaumont (Texas), water cut Homewood Suites from the outside world. Due to the flood, hotel employees were unable to go to work, and guests - to leave the building. Hotel administrator Satchel Smith had 32 hours of self-service for 90 people.

“The access road is flooded, the I10 highway is closed due to flooding. We can neither go out nor go in. The hotel in a mile (1,6 km) from us flooded. Sethel was here all night. His colleagues could not get, so he was left alone. He fixed the telephone, answered all our questions, made sure everyone had a cup of coffee or tea and helped us make a hot breakfast. He dealt with this situation with dignity, kindness and a beautiful smile on his face, ”Chandler wrote on her Facebook page. She also attached a photograph of the student to the post and called him a hero.
