20 most interesting places in Israel, according to tourists
In 2018, almost 4 million foreign tourists visited Israel.
26 December The country's Ministry of Tourism published a report in which it named the most popular sights of Israel among foreigners, the newspaper writes.NEWS".
1. Wall of Tears
This Jewish shrine on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem was visited by 67% of tourists who visited Israel in 2018 year.
2. Church of the Holy Sepulcher
The Christian church in the Old Town, attracting pilgrims all year round, was visited by every second foreign tourist (51%).
3. Old jaffa
The picturesque area near the Mediterranean is not much lower than Jerusalem in terms of popularity - 46% of tourists visited it.
4. Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa)
The route from the Lion Gate to the Old City in Jerusalem, passing through the Muslim and Christian quarters and ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, attracted 46% of tourists.
5. Observation deck on the Mount of Olives (Har ha-Zetim)
The site east of the Old City, offering a magnificent view of Jerusalem, was visited by 44% of tourists.
6. Tel Aviv port
The trading port, built in 1930-s and at the beginning of 2000-s turned into one of the largest leisure centers in Israel, visited 34% of tourists.
7. Masada (Mezada)
27% of tourists climbed the mountain over the Dead Sea - a symbol of the heroism of the Jewish people.
8. Capernaum (Kfar Nahum National Park)
The archaeological complex on the site of the ancient city at Lake Kinneret, where, according to the Gospel, Christ preached and performed miracles, visited 26% of tourists.
9. Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem
The quarter where Jews lived for 3000 for years is very popular with the guests of Israel - 25% of tourists visited it.
10. Caesarea
An impressive archaeological complex - a Roman amphitheater, hippodrome, palace, trade harbor, sculpture park - attracted 2018% of tourists visiting Israel in 24 year.

In 16th place is the “Garden Grave,” a grotto in Jerusalem, which representatives of some Protestant movements consider the true place of the burial and resurrection of Christ (13%).
