Every year more than half of Americans plan to go somewhere for summer vacation at least for a few days.

Edition Travel and Leisure compiled a list of 20 cities that experienced tourists recommend visiting during the warmer months.

20. Baltimore

Tourists love the local pizza, beer and reasonable prices.

19. Charleston

This quaint southern city is just half an hour from the beaches. The city has beautiful pedestrian streets, charming boutique hotels and friendly locals.

18. Kansas City

In this city, barbecue is very popular, in the summer many street festivals take place, old and antique shops are open.

This island can be compared to paradise, if not for the hurricane season. The city is famous for its cocktails and romance.
