31 College, where you can enroll without taking the SAT or ACT tests

According to Time money, every sixth student cannot go to college because of problems with taking the SAT and ACT tests. Experts surveyed by the publication believe that because of the difficult scoring system, even trained students fail the exam.

Meanwhile, analysts have compiled a list of 3 dozen US colleges that you can enroll in even with poor SAT or ACT test results. However, even in these educational institutions, the admission conditions say “a test is possible,” which means admission is still not guaranteed. But for some applicants this is still a chance for admission.

Also, some colleges, such as New York University, provide an opportunity not to take the tests, but to provide the results of the Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exams.

However, before applying for these colleges, experts recommend checking yourself on several points.

1. Optional test. Find out on what conditions you can be exempt from taking the test. For example, you studied at home and did not pass certain exams.
2. Should you take additional tests. Some schools do not require SAT or ACT results, but they will have to pass additional tests that are accepted at this particular college.
3. Do you need any additional materials. A number of colleges ask their students to write an essay or do other test tasks.
4. Additional factors. Some college students accept without tests only those students who, while studying at school, have passed the most difficult subjects well. And if you, for example, received the necessary points only with the help of relatively light objects, then you may not be allowed to enter without testing.
5. What are your chances of admission? The fact is that in practice, only a few students often get the opportunity to enroll without passing the SAT or ACT tests. Find out immediately what your chances are.
6. Will this be an obstacle for financial assistance. Find out if you will not be denied funding when they find out that you did without passing the tests.
