15 of states where auto insurance after a fine will rise in price most

Probably, each of us received a penalty at least once due to speeding. Not only does the cost of a fine vary depending on the state in which you violated the speed law, it can also affect the cost of auto insurance.

As explains Department of Automobile Vehicles, insurance companies must pay attention to speeding tickets, which increases your risk of getting into a car accident. Each company assesses this risk differently, but in general, the number of fines and the fact that you have exceeded the specified rate are significant factors.

According to a recent analysis NerdWallet, the average American pays $1 per year for auto insurance without any delinquency. With one speeding ticket, the national average reaches $394.33—that's 1% higher than the rate without a ticket. In other words, if you speed, you can expect the cost of your auto insurance to increase the next time you renew it.

The effects can be much higher than 14%. In all of the 15 states listed below, the percentage increase was greater than the national average. If you live in these states, you should think twice before putting pressure on the gas when you are late for work.
