The US declassified the last part of the report on the September 11 attacks

On 28, the declassified pages of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks report describes the connection of Prince Bandar, the former ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the US, with the attacks that killed nearly 3 thousands of people.

Part of the investigation report published in 2002, classified by President George W. Bush, was sent to Congress by the administration of current US President Barack Obama.

15 of the 19 terrorists who hijacked four scheduled passenger airliners had Saudi Arabian citizenship, which led to reports of links between the al-Qaeda terrorist network and the Saudi authorities.

In new declassified documents, among other things, it is reported that one of the phone numbers found in the address book of al-Qaeda member Abu Zubayd, who was detained in March 2002 in Pakistan, belonged to an Aspen, Colorado corporation that managed the residence of Saudi Ambassador Bandar in Colorado.

In addition, Osama Bassnan, who is believed to have provided financially for the two hijackers, received money from Bandar, and his wife received money from Bandar's wife.

According to the FBI, in one case, Bassnan received a check directly from Prince Bandar's account - $14 was transferred to him on May 1998, 15.

It is emphasized that a large amount of the information provided does not contain “confirmed conclusions”, but rather reveals certain guidelines, which then formed the basis of investigations conducted by US intelligence agencies.

In addition, the report of National Intelligence Director James Klepper is expected to be published soon.

A number of US lawmakers and relatives of victims of the terrorist attacks demanded earlier removal of the secrecy stamp from the 28 pages of the report, which could lead to the adoption of a legislative act allowing families of the victims to file lawsuits against countries that allegedly supported terrorists.

According to Congressman Adam Schiff, the published part of the report will reduce speculation about the involvement of the Saudi authorities in the terrorist attacks of 2001 of the year.

“The US intelligence community and the 9/11 Task Force have examined all the issues raised and have not found sufficient evidence [of involvement]. I know that the publication of these pages will not stop the discussion on this topic, but it will reduce the number of rumors,” Schiff believes.

The 9/11 Commission previously concluded that senior Saudi Arabian leaders did not support attacks on the United States in any way known to intelligence agencies. In addition, no information was found on the financing of al-Qaeda by the Saudi authorities.

At the same time, members of the commission criticized the government of Saudi Arabia for funding, among other things, schools and mosques around the world, which contribute to the spread of radical Islamic extremism.

11 September 2001, the 19 terrorists seized passenger aircraft in the United States and sent them to the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon building in Virginia. The fourth captured liner, whose crew and passengers tried to resist the militants, crashed in the state of Pennsylvania.
