Business Insider examined salaries and growth projections for occupations that typically require a high school diploma, its equivalent, or some form of post-secondary education without a degree. Many of the top 13 fall into one of three occupational groups: construction and mining; security services; and installation, maintenance, and repair.

Employers may be interested in candidates with higher levels of education. The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that commercial pilots typically require specialized education without a degree, but some employers may prefer or even require a degree.
Below are the top 13 high-paying and promising professions that do not require a higher education.
