113-year-old woman, considered the oldest resident of Spain, said she feels good after surviving the battle with coronavirus, writes CNN. She became the oldest person in the world to conquer the disease and the only survivor after COVID-19 over 110 years old.

A video appeared on the web of Maria Branias, born March 4, 1907, talking with the director of a nursing home in which she lives in the city of Olot, Catalonia.

"As far as my health goes, I'm fine, with the same minor discomforts that anyone would have," Branyas said in the video. The video was recorded on Monday, May 11, a nursing home spokeswoman said.

Branias recovered from a mild case of COVID-19. According to the spokeswoman, the symptoms of the disease began shortly after the family arrived at the woman on March 4 to celebrate her 113th birthday.

Since then, relatives could not come to Mary in person. A spokeswoman said that Branias has been living in a separate room for 18 years in the Santa Maria del Tura Nursing Home, which is run by the Institute of the Order of San Jose Gerona, associated with the Roman Catholic Church.

Branias was born in San Francisco, USA, where her father worked as a journalist.

During her long life, she survived two world wars, as well as the 1918 flu pandemic, which killed more than 50 million people around the world.

Although Branias recovered from COVID-19, two residents of the same nursing home died from him. Since then, the situation in the institution has improved, the administration said.

Since March 14, a state of emergency has been operating in Spain with strict measures to restrict freedom of movement. But due to the fact that the incidence and mortality rate is decreasing, the government, in preparation for the gradual weakening of quarantine, canceled some measures in certain parts of the country. But the initial removal of these restrictions did not extend to Olot, where Branias lives.
