11-year-old American opened her business when her mother was out of work because of the shatdaun

11 is a partially blind, American-American Bella Berrelez, whose mother spent almost a month without work due to the shatdaun of the federal government, decided to help her family and set up her own business.

Since the government partially stopped its work in December, Bella, a fifth-grader from Gaithersburg, Maryland, has already sold over 500 handmade sugar body scrubs, writes ABC News.

When her mother Jessica, who had worked for a long time at the FDA, was out of work, the girl began to create her own products and sell each jar for 7 dollars.

“I just came up with an idea. When I saw how my mother was going through, I immediately thought: what can I do to help?” says Bella, noting that the sugar scrub is her third startup, after earrings and slimes, which she made before.

Bella launched the Bella Sweet Scrubs project, preparing scrubs according to the recipe, which she invented and tried with her mother. The girl started by selling scrubs to her neighbors and friends, and now she has her own store, from where she sends cosmetics to customers all over the country.

Bella uses profits to grow her company and help other people. She recently donated 100 dollars to Nourish Now, a non-profit organization that collects food from restaurants and cafes that are ready to become benefactors, and distributes them to needy families. According to Brett Myers, the founder of the organization, Bella's donation made it possible to distribute more dishes to 200.

“There are more and more people who are asking for help every day because of the shutdown,” he says. “Thankfully, we have people like Bella really helping, restaurants calling for more donations, and the community at large asking how more they can help.”

Myers added: “Shatdaun strikingly affects so many people. We see it every day. ”

According to her mother, Bella found out about the shatdaun from the news, which every morning looks at breakfast. Since then, the family has often discussed how all this affects them and how they can help others.

“I’m really proud of myself and I’m really glad that I have the support of my parents and the chance to do this,” Bella says. “I’m thinking about expanding and creating other products like lip gloss and soap.”

Although the Berrelosis family can relatively easily survive the shutdown, since they have two incomes, among other things, Bella's business has provided the family with a “positive, fun distraction” from long days of uncertainty and instability.

“I think they should reopen the government. I want my mom to go back to work,” Bella admits.

According to Bella's mom, her daughter’s entrepreneurial activity made her understand how knowledgeable the children are about what is happening around them and how much they want to help.
