Today, a rally in support of the convicted Russian oppositionist Ildar Dadin took place outside the Russian Consulate General in New York. About 30 people took part in the picket. People came with posters “Freedom for Ildar Dadin.” The action lasted two hours.

The fact that the picket is being prepared was told by the organizers of the action on the page in Facebook a month ago. And today, around the world, similar pickets were held in several cities at once. The rally was attended by Russian-speaking residents of London, Berlin, Prague, Bonn, Kiev, Toronto.

Recall that the Basmanny Court of Moscow in December last year found the Russian opposition leader Ildar Dadin guilty of violating the law on rallies and sentenced him to three years in a penal colony. There are no similar precedents in the Russian judicial system.
