10 U.S. cities with growing jobs, salaries, and housing

If you are looking for the perfect place in the USA where you can find a job, start a business or raise your salary, consider one of the thriving American cities in which rapid economic growth creates jobs and attracts new residents, offers CNBC.

The SmartAsset financial website analyzed data on the 500 largest US cities and examined 7 indicators in its ranking: population change, unemployment rate, number of jobs created, GDP growth rates, business growth rates, housing growth and changes in household incomes.

To compile the list, SmartAsset used data from surveys of the American Community of the United States Census Bureau for 2014 and 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the United States and the Study of Business Models of Districts of the United States Census Bureau.

Southern cities dominated the ranking, including several locations in Texas and South Carolina. Despite the fact that all places on the list are considered “fast-growing,” SmartAsset found that growth in some is more pronounced than in others. In Greeley, Colorado, the population grew twice as fast as the average for the rest of the cities in the study. New Braunfels, Texas, added 41% more housing units between 2014 and 2018, which increased its population by 30%. Round Rock, Texas, has 20% more businesses.
