On Wednesday, New York is waiting for heavy snow

According to weather forecasters, in the second half of the day in New York will begin heavy snowfall, which promises to create problems on the roads by the evening.

In the second half of Wednesday powerful winter storm will bring snow and rain almost everywhere in the tri-state area - tonight could turn into a snow nightmare for tens of thousands of people, writes NBC New York.

It will snow around 13:00-14:00, but more heavy and stable snowfall should be expected in the evening - its maximum will occur during rush hour and will significantly worsen traffic conditions on the roads.

On Wednesday morning, all major airports in New York had flight delays of at least two hours—and the snow hadn't even started falling. Remembering the catastrophic November stormGovernor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency for New Jersey, which began at 5 in the morning.

The New York City Sanitation Department issued a snowfall warning, adding that cleaning with technology will begin as soon as 2 in. (5 cm) of precipitation falls.

It is expected that after sunset the temperature will rise above zero and the snow will turn into rain. According to Storm Team 4, it will rain all night on Thursday, so the road may be slippery in the morning. In most places, the humidity drops quickly, and the air temperature rises to 50 Fahrenheit (10 Celsius).

By the time the storm leaves the region, New York may lie from 1 to 3 inches (2,5-7,5 cm) of snow, the same amount of precipitation is expected in suburbs in the north and east. In western New Jersey, snow depth can range from 3 to 5 inches.

It is expected that on Thursday the temperature will rise to 50 (10) degrees, which means that even the old drifts should begin to melt. By Friday and Saturday, it will be cold to 40 (4) degrees, but on Sunday it may warm up to 60 (15-16) degrees again.
