Between US President Donald Trump and CNN journalist Jim Acosta, there was a tense verbal skirmish on the air during a press conference by the head of state in the White House.

The incident occurred on November 7, when Acosta asked a question about immigrants and a caravan of thousands of people from Latin American countries who are moving towards the American border, writes “Today".

The journalist asked why Trump “demonizes” migrants and calls their trip an “invasion,” to which he received the answer that the White House is not against migrants, but against attempts to illegally enter the country.

Trump also recalled the labor shortage in American enterprises, so he stressed that the US even needs new migrants.

“Frankly, you should let me continue to lead the country, and you should continue to lead CNN. And if you do this well, you will have significantly higher ratings,” the president concluded and turned the floor over to another journalist.

But Acosta was not satisfied with such an answer and entered into a discussion with the head of the White House, who in response asked him to take his place, and the moderator of the press conference tried to take away the microphone from him.

But this further provoked the reporter - he, having resisted, began shouting questions about Russian interference in the presidential election in 2016.

“CNN should be ashamed that you work for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You don't have to work for CNN, ”Trump said.

When another journalist began to ask a question, Acosta rose again, apparently to answer the president’s words about him.

In the video from the press conference, you can’t hear what the reporter said; Trump told him that “when CNN reports fake news, it’s the enemy of the people in the US.”
