New York plans to ban the sale of things from natural fur
Animal rights activist, legislator Linda Rosenthal proposed a new bill that should lead to a total ban on the sale of natural fur in New York to 2021 year.

According to Rosenthal, fur has ceased to be fashionable - today more and more people are against the killing of fur-bearing animals, writes New York Post.
“Consumers are increasingly looking to make ethical and sustainable purchases—fur is not one of them,” Rosenthal said. “At the heart of the fur trade is violence against animals, which is contrary to our modern understanding of animals as human friends and living beings.”
A commentary to her bill says: “Fur farms in the United States breed animals such as raccoons, foxes, minks, and chinchillas to kill them for their fur, often using cruel and inhuman methods.”
The United States Humane Society estimates that each year more than 100 millions of animals are killed due to fur.
The sale of fur products already banned los angeles и San Francisco. Such large brands of luxury clothing as Coach, Gucci, Armani, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Burberry, Coach, Diane Furstenberg, DKNY have abandoned fur.
But the bill will not become law without a struggle with those who work with natural fur: in New York more than 130 fur enterprises work, where 1100 people are employed.
“This legislation follows animal rights guidance. They want to eliminate any use of animals,” said Steve Cowit, co-owner of Cowit Furs & Madison Avenue Furs. “And then they will ban the meat of chickens and cows.”
Kim Salvo, director of fur fashion at Anamoda, said of the ban: “No one can buy fur ?! This is madness!".
She expressed herself about fur products like this: “They are so “green”, they couldn’t be greener. They are renewable. They are eternal."
