How two Russian girls thanked the police in New York
Daughters of the Russians, who were helped by two New York police officers during a street attack in the USA, wrote a letter of thanks to these guards.
New York police posted a handwritten letter from Nellie and Eva Makrich on their Twitter account.
The message is addressed to Albert Ramos and Daniel Mulligan.
18 November 2015, detectives Albert Ramos and Daniel Mulligan were on a business trip to California.
According to authorities, a Russian tourist, Mikhail Makrich, was walking along the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, along with two daughters and a wife, when a homeless man with a knife attacked him.
Both New York policemen were dressed in civilian clothes, but this did not stop them. They rushed to the aid of Michael, who defended himself from the attacker. Before Albert Ramos and Daniel Mulligan managed to intervene, the perpetrator inflicted several wounds to Mikhail’s neck.
“They saw what was happening, intervened, stopped it - they arrested the suspect and handed him over to us,” said LAPD police captain Pete Zarcone.
By now, Mikhail has already been discharged from the hospital.
Previously, "Forum" wrote that Los Angeles leads the by the number of homeless. And almost all of them sleep on the street. Since 2013, the number of homeless in the city increased on 55%.
