A group of militants opened fire at a club in a Mexican resort: five dead
At least five people were killed and five more were injured as a result of the shooting at a club in Cancun (Mexico).

According to state prosecutors in Quintana Roo, men armed with a gun and three pistols opened fire at La Kuka Club, located in the center of Cancun, about 4 miles (6 km) from the coastal tourist hotel area.
Two of the five wounded are in critical condition.
In general, violence erupted in Cancun and in the state of Quintana Roo: in the state of 2018, a person's 774 was killed in the state compared to the 359 recorded killings in the 2017 year.
The violence may be due to the fact that, according to media reports, the Jalisco cartel moves to Cancun and fights for power with other local gangs.
In January, three militants shot seven people dead in a house in Cancún. The shooting occurred because of a dispute between street drug dealers and on the orders of the gang leader, who is associated with the Jalisco cartel.
Official statistics show that the number of murders in Mexico in 2018 increased by 33%, the country has broken records for this indicator for the second year in a row. In November, the US Department of State Tourism Board urged Americans to "exercise increased caution" when traveling to Mexico because of the high level of crime.
“Violent crimes such as murder, kidnapping, carjacking and robbery are widespread in Mexico,” the State Department said.
Cancun remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico and the world.
