Hollywood director found guilty of cruel murder of Ukrainian

Hollywood director, screenwriter and animator Blake Leibel was found guilty of the murder of his girlfriend Ukrainian Yana Kasyan. Reports about it Lenta.ru report with reference to The Hollywood Reporter.

The director was convicted of a crime committed in May 2016. Mother Kasian went to the police, claiming that her daughter was missing. Law enforcement officers found her mutilated and bloodless body in Leibel's barricaded apartment in West Hollywood. In addition to the murder, he was accused of causing injury and torture.

The pathologists who acted as consultants at the trial stated that the actions that the defendant had performed on the woman’s body were unprecedented in terms of barbarism and cruelty. They stressed that Kasian "died a slow and painful death."

The sentence to the defendant will be announced later.

Leibel wrote the script and directed the movie "Bald" 2008, shot several episodes of the animated series "Cosmoboltsy". He also became the author of the comic book "Syndrome" about a serial killer, one of whose illustrations resembles a scene seen by the police in Leibel’s bedroom. It depicts a naked woman on a blood-soaked bed.

Kasian emigrated to the USA in 2014 year. Three weeks before her death, she gave birth to a daughter.
