Hollywood actor faked an attack on himself to achieve a pay rise

Hollywood actor Jussi Smollett himself organized an attack on himself and then filed a false statement to law enforcement.

21 February this was announced by the representative of the police of the city of Chicago (Illinois) Eddie Johnson during a press conference.

In late January, it became known that Smollett was hospitalized after two men allegedly attacked him in a Chicago street. According to the actor, the attackers began shouting racist insults, and then struck him several blows, threw a rope around his neck and doused him with an unknown substance. According to a number of American media, it was a bleaching agent.

Soon, the police suspected Smollett of staging the attack, and the actor was detained. According to the police spokesman, Smollett took advantage of the indignation caused by the manifestation of racism in his address to advance his career.

“Smollett committed such an act because he was not happy with his salary,” the policeman explained. In addition, the suspect, according to Chicago police, also sent a letter containing racial slurs in his name to the 20th Century Fox studio where he worked.
